Dermontti Dawson, a former Pittsburgh Steelers center and Hall of Fame candidate, is now putting his personal effects on the auction block after a costly bankruptcy.
Dawson filed for protection in July citing assets of $1.4 million against liabilities of more than $69 million.
"Unfortunately, my personal guaranty exposure on the debts of numerous real estate interests has led to the Chapter 7 filing," Dawson told the Lexington Herald-Leader at the time of filing. "I certainly wish things had turned out differently and look forward to continuing my contributions to this community."
Dawson is attempting to sell his 41-foot motor home worth an estimated $103,000, as well as a BMW and Hummer H2, according to The Wall Street Journal. The Lexington, Kentucky, native will also be selling his home and his personal gun collection.
The bankruptcy filing was necessary after a series of financial rulings against Dawson's businesses, the news source says. The resulting payments made it necessary for the companies to default on loans.
Dawson played for the Steelers for 13 years, and at one point was the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history, earning $4.2 million a season.
