Attorneys at the Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association's New Deal for Consumer Bankruptcy Seminar will feature information concerning bankruptcy law and its and loopholes.
"The September 2, 2011, numbers from the American Bankruptcy Institute show that consumer bankruptcies were down 11 percent nationwide from August 2010," said Beth Mason, InCharge's Director of Outreach Programs for Bankruptcy Services. "Those numbers are encouraging, but consumer credit remains tight, and the city of New York, as an example, remains in the top five for bankruptcy filings."
Credit counseling is a highly sought after form of financial relief that analyzes the consumer's debts and assets and provides a debt management plan. The U.S. Department of Justice provides a list of approved credit counseling agencies by state.
