Consumer Bankruptcy consists of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings. As the title implies Consumer Bankruptcy is only for non-business Debtors. A consumer Debtor that is also a d/b/a does qualify for a Consumer Bankruptcy filing. It is important to make sure that a consumer filer uses a Consumer Bankruptcy firm rather than a strictly business bankruptcy firm.
