Are you sure?
I find it amazing that debtors feel the need to question my answer to them. I had a debtor today that has a confirmation hearing on his Chapter 13 plan. He wanted to verify dates of confirmation hearing and I gave him the dates. I told him that he didn’t have to go to the hearing, and he had the nerve to ask me if I was sure. I am absolutely sure that he doesn’t have to go. The Chapter 13 trustee did file an objection and explained to him that I need updated information to show the trustee that he can make the trustee payments and that will resolve the objection and that will prevent him from going to any hearings. Luckily at the end he was happy he didn’t have to go.
I really don’t understand why they feel they have to question someone who has been in the field for many years and does the same job on a daily basis to question whether they are right or wrong. Most debtors have not even been through this process and don’t know what to do.
