Rebuilding Credit after Bankrupctcy

After receiving discharge from bankruptcy it is important to request credit report from all 3 credit reporting agencies. Within 30-60 days after bankruptcy discharge all your creditors should have your unsecured and surrendered secured debts listed as discharged. File a formal dispute with the credit reporting agency by provided copy of your discharge order to have this corrected.

Most debtor will rebuild credit by purchasing an automobile and having their payments set up on auto-draft to ensure this builds a timely pay history. Approval of a low credit limit credit card and paying off the balance each month. Just even charging less than $50 on the card and paying off each month will help build better credit rating. If you own a home then you must make sure your monthly mortgage payments are paid on time and that you are never 30 days late.
