Child Support Arrears in Bankruptcy
There are times when people become behind on their child support. They come in to file for bankruptcy to help them with their debt and file for a chapter 13. In a chapter 13 you can include your arrears on your child support and continue to make your regular monthly obligation payments. Under the new law, you are required to keep your obligation current or the courts will file a motion to dismiss your case. It is very important that you keep on top of your payments on your child support obligation to keep your self out of trouble.
