Court Fines
An interesting question came up today about court fines. This debtor wanted to know if court fines would be taken care of through his bankruptcy and if he could add them. I explained to him that they would need to be listed for a debt that he owes, but this type of debt is not dischargeable. If we all could get rid of our traffic fines and all, I think we would be able to have more people file just for that reason. It would be a perfect world if we were able to do something like that. The bankruptcy rules only go so far and they don’t cover court fines. If you have further questions in detail about court fines and do about them, contact your attorney to ask them what should be done. You can’t run away from court fines and fees that easily.
