Property taxes while in Chapter 13 Bankkruptcy
Many clients will call and have the impression that they are not obligated to pay their property taxes while in bankruptcy. If your mortgage loan does not escrow for property taxes then you must pay your own taxes. If you filed in 2007 then our office can have 2007 and any previous years provided for in your Chapter 13 bankruptcy plan. All future tax years must be paid directly to the the taxing authority for your area.
Contact your attorney if you have any questions about what tax years are provided for in your Chapter 13 plan.
Please fill out our free evaluation form to determine if bankruptcy is right for you.
