Converting Chapter 13 Bankruptcy to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
You may have the option to convert your bankruptcy case from Chapter 13 to Chapter 7 if you have decided to your home or vehicle. You will need to provide copy of pay stubs for the last 6 months and updated monthly household expenses for your attorney to review.
Not all debtors qualify to convert bankruptcy case to Chapter 7. It will be easier to convert your Chapter 13 case to Chapter 7 case if you filed your case prior to 10/17/2005, before the bankruptcy law change. New Bankruptcy law for filing Chapter 7 case is more strict and many debtors who would have qualified under old law will not qualify now.
