Tips Before Filing Bankrutpcy

Decisions need to be made based on the income you have coming in now. A bankruptcy can discharge the credit cards and medical bills, but will not lower house payments. If the house payment has gone up because of the type of loan you have or because of the income change the house might need to be surrendered. It is better on your credit to surrender the house in a bankruptcy before it is foreclosed on. The same would go for a car, surrender it before the repossession happens.

Your Banking place needs to be looked at. If you have credit card debts with your bank you should change banks. If you are already overdrawn stop putting money in that bank and go open another account with a different bank.

Stop charging on the credit cards, if you have used them in the last 30 days the creditor has a right to try and keep you from discharging that debt.
Talk to a bankruptcy attorney before using up all you 401’s. that counts as income plus now you have no retirement.
