Chapter 13 Discharge
When a Debtor files for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy the process takes from three to five years to complete the process. Over the years the Debtor makes payments to the Chapter 13 trustee each month and under the new law, it is wage deducted from one or both of the Debtors. Once the three to five year plan is complete and the Debtor had completed the financial management course, the Debtor will receive a Discharge for their Chapter 13 plan of their debts and will also receive their titles to their cars if they had included them in the plan.
After the completion and discharge of the chapter 13 plan, many debtors will pull their credit report in hopes that they will be able to start rebuilding their credit. Any mistakes that are made on the credit report must be disputed to the credit reporting agencies. The best way to do this would be to send a letter to all the credit reporting agencies by regular and certified mail and dispute the items that reflect incorrectly giving a reason why you are disputing them.
